Simon: "Mushrooms. None of your chemical shit. This is natures way."

The Film

The Perfect Plan

Three small time crooks, Jake, Tony and Simon, desperate to escape their frustrating and unfulfilled lives, plot to kidnap some valuable laboratory mice and extort a £2 million ransom from Gilbert Pharmaceuticals, where Jake works as a security guard.

Jake's masterstroke is to employ a film crew to record their attempt. If the heist fails, he sells the film - nice little nest egg for when he gets out of prison.

For the crew, trapped in the cul-de-sac of corporate video, this could be their ticket to the big time.

But the best laid plans...

The mice - Colonel, Wiseguy, Stumpy, Pearly, Scaredy and Nasty - in the tradition of all great celluloid Prisoners of War, form an escape committee and are planning their own bid for freedom.

A Modern Ealing Comedy

Aimed squarely at 18 - 35 year olds, Labrats takes some of the finest ingredients from the golden age of British comedy - warm, colourful characters, quirky situations and gentle satire - and applies them to a contemporary story to create an original, inventive and very funny film.
